When you buy a font from Fontswala you are buying a license to use it - the font software itself remains the property of Pranishi Digital. We keep licensing simple with three tiers: Personal, Commercial and Extended. Not every font offers every tier - the font page shows what is available. Some fonts are also offered as free downloads; see Free fonts below.

Personal License
For your own personal, non-commercial projects. You may:
- Install the font on up to 2 of your own devices.
- Create designs for personal use - family wedding cards and invitations, personal social media posts, greetings, school/college projects, and similar non-commercial work.
The Personal license does not cover any work you are paid for, work for a business (including your own), or products that are sold.
Commercial License
Everything in Personal, plus commercial use. You may:
- Install the font on up to 5 devices within your business or studio.
- Use it in client work and paid projects - wedding-card design services, posters, banners, social media content for brands, YouTube thumbnails, packaging, advertisements.
- Use it in logos and brand identities you create for yourself or clients.
- Sell physical or printed products (cards, posters, merchandise) that use the font.
The Commercial license covers static output - images, print, video. It does not cover shipping the font file inside an app, game, software product, or website. For that you need Extended.
Extended License
Everything in Commercial, plus embedding. You may:
- Install the font on up to 10 devices within your organisation.
- Embed the font in mobile apps and games (Android / iOS), including published titles.
- Embed it in desktop software and SaaS products your company ships.
- Use it as a webfont on websites you own or build for clients.
One Extended license covers one company’s products. Very large deployments (e.g. bundling with an OS or device firmware) need a custom agreement - talk to us.
Free fonts
Fonts marked FREE on our store are downloaded at no cost in exchange for your email address, and come with the Personal licensedescribed above - free for personal, non-commercial use on up to 2 devices. Everything in “Not allowed under any license” applies to free fonts too, and in particular:
- Free fonts may not be used for paid, client, or business work - if you love a free font and need it commercially, an affordable Commercial license is available on its font page.
- Please don’t re-share the font files - send friends to fontswala.com, where they can download it free themselves.
A copy of the free-font license text is included inside every free download.
Not allowed under any license
- Sharing or reselling the font files - you may share the finished artwork, never the font itself. Each person or business using the font needs their own license.
- Uploading the font to free-font websites, file-sharing services, or public servers.
- Modifying, renaming, converting, or reverse-engineering the font files.
Upgrades
Bought Personal and now need Commercial or Extended? Email hello@fontswala.com with your order ID - you pay only the difference.
