Ganesh Chaturthi Fonts

गणेश चतुर्थी

Every Ganesh Chaturthi banner comes down to one line of lettering set large - the mandal name, a shubhechha, or simply Ganpati Bappa Morya. These Ganesh Chaturthi fonts are decorative Devanagari display faces drawn for exactly that job: heavy enough to read across a street, ornamental enough to carry the whole design on their own. Pick a Ganpati font style below, set your own words in it, and download a free preview before you buy anything.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 falls on Monday, 14 September, with visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi eleven days later. Artwork wants to be ready a good fortnight before that.

What a mandal banner actually has to fit

A mandal hoarding is not one headline. It is usually four things stacked: the mandal name, the year it was founded or the count of years it has been running, the aagman and visarjan dates, and a sponsor strip along the bottom. Only the first of those deserves a decorative font. Set the mandal name in a heavy display face at the largest size the sheet allows, then drop to a plain Devanagari text font for dates and sponsors so the board stays readable from the road.

The common mistake is setting everything ornamental. Swashes that look beautiful at 200pt turn into mud at 40pt, and a sponsor list nobody can read is a sponsor list nobody renews. One decorative face, one plain face, and a clear size jump between them is the whole system.

Aagman and visarjan want different lettering

Arrival artwork is loud. Saffron, marigold yellow, deep red, gold on dark, thick strokes, plenty of energy - this is the welcome, and the type should shout. Ganpati Bappa Morya and the mandal name carry it.

Visarjan artwork is the opposite mood. Pudhchya varshi lavkar ya is a goodbye, and it reads better in a lighter, more calligraphic face with air around it, often on a single dark background with one line of text. Using the same heavy banner font for both is why a lot of mandal feeds look flat by day eleven.

Setting the type without a Marathi keyboard

These fonts use the traditional ASCII keyboard mapping Indian designers have typed on for decades, which means pasting Unicode Marathi straight into CorelDRAW gives you nonsense. Our free type converter fixes that: type in plain English or paste Unicode Marathi, Hindi or Gujarati, copy the converted output, and paste it with the Fontswala font selected. Every phrase on this page has a Copy button that hands the text straight to the converter.

For print, keep the decorative line as live text until the final proof, then convert to curves before sending to the flex printer. Print shops routinely lack the font, and curves guarantee the banner comes back looking like the file you approved.

Ganesh symbol fonts, PNG exports and free download

Three things get asked for in the same breath and are not the same thing. A Ganesh symbol font is a dingbat face where a key press produces a Ganpati icon or a shubh-labh mark rather than a letter, and it is used for the ornament beside a headline. A Ganesh font is a full alphabet you actually set words in. Almost everyone searching for a Ganpati symbol font really wants the second one plus a separate vector ornament, which any decorative Devanagari font pairs with cleanly.

For a Ganesh Chaturthi font PNG, use the studio at the top of this page. Type your line, pick a background, and the download gives you a transparent-ready image of that exact text. It is watermarked and capped in resolution on purpose: it is a shareable teaser, not print artwork. If you need the words clean and at full size, that is what the licence buys.

Free download is worth being precise about too. Trying every Ganpati font here with your own words is free and always will be, and some faces in the collection are genuinely free to download and use. The rest are paid, and every Ganesh font download is instant once you buy, with the file waiting in your account. Be wary of the free files floating around on font-sharing sites: they are usually old legacy fonts with broken jodakshar and no support, and a stylish font that mangles the conjuncts in your mandal name is not a saving.

One more naming trap. Ganpati Bappa Morya in Marathi font and the same words in a Hindi font are not different products, because Marathi and Hindi share the Devanagari script. The spelling shifts slightly, and every font here sets both.

Ganesh Chaturthi font questions, answered

Which font is best for a Ganesh Chaturthi banner?
For a mandal hoarding that has to read from a distance, pick the heaviest decorative face with the most solid strokes and set it large. Lighter calligraphic styles suit social posts, invitation cards and visarjan artwork, where the viewer is close to the screen or the paper. Try your own mandal name in the studio above and judge it at the size you will actually print.
How do I write Ganpati Bappa Morya in a stylish Marathi font?
Type or paste it into the Mockup Studio at the top of this page and switch fonts from the dropdown. The same Ganpati Bappa Morya Marathi font line changes character completely with each face, so you can compare every stylish font side by side before choosing. When you have picked one, buy the licence and use the free type converter to set it yourself in CorelDRAW, Photoshop or Illustrator.
Can I download a Ganesh Chaturthi font PNG?
Yes. The Mockup Studio gives you a free PNG download of whatever you type, on your choice of background and colour. It carries a fontswala.com watermark and is size limited, so a Ganesh Chaturthi font PNG from here is made for sharing and previewing rather than final print artwork. Buying the font licence lets you set the same text cleanly at any size.
What is the difference between a Ganesh font and a Ganpati font style?
Nothing, in practice. People search both ways for the same thing: a decorative Devanagari face to set Marathi or Hindi lettering for the festival. A Ganesh font style is simply one particular face, and this page collects the ones that suit the occasion. Note that a few old legacy files also happen to be named Ganesh, which is a font family name rather than anything to do with the festival.
Can I write a name in Ganesh font style?
Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. Put a mandal name, a family name or a person name into the studio above and it renders in whichever font you pick. For names specifically, the name calligraphy maker gives you more control over colour and layout, and works with the same Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati fonts.
Is there a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi font in English?
Most people setting "Happy Ganesh Chaturthi" want that English line sitting under a Devanagari headline rather than standing alone, so a happy Ganesh Chaturthi font really means a pairing. Our Latin display faces are drawn to sit alongside the Devanagari ones: set the Marathi or Hindi line large, the English smaller beneath it, and keep the weights close so it reads as one design instead of two.
Do you have Ganpati calligraphy fonts?
Yes. The lighter faces in this collection are calligraphic rather than block display: brush-like strokes, generous swashes and connected forms that suit invitation cards, aarti booklets and visarjan posts. The heavier faces are the opposite and belong on hoardings. Both are shown above, so compare them with your own words before deciding.
Are these Ganesh Chaturthi fonts free to download?
Trying them is free, and some of our fonts are free to download outright. The rest are paid licences starting at a few hundred rupees, with instant download after payment. Every font on this page can be previewed with your own text before you spend anything.
Can my mandal use these fonts on a printed banner?
Yes, with a commercial licence. The personal licence covers your own non-commercial posts and greetings. Anything printed for a mandal, sold, or carrying sponsor logos needs the commercial tier. Full terms are on the licensing page.
Do these fonts work in CorelDRAW and Photoshop?
Yes. They install as ordinary OpenType files on Windows and Mac and appear in every design application. Because they use the traditional ASCII keyboard layout rather than Unicode, run your Marathi or Hindi through our free type converter first, then paste the result with the font selected.
