Fontswala fonts are decorative display fonts — they are designed to make headlines, titles, and short pieces of text look beautiful. They are works of lettering art first and typographic software second. Please read this page so you know exactly what you are buying.
1. Creative freedom comes first
Our letterforms deliberately break the standard rules of conventional typeface design. Flourishes, swashes, exaggerated proportions, and stylistic quirks are intentional design choices, not defects. Each font follows its own artistic theme, so the same letter can look very different from one Fontswala font to another.
2. Glyph and conjunct coverage varies
- Our fonts may not include every conjunct (joined letters such as क्ष, ज्ञ, श्री) or every rare character of a script. Coverage differs from font to font depending on its design theme.
- Numerals, punctuation, and symbols may be stylised or limited compared to a standard text font.
- These fonts are made for display sizes — headlines, cards, posters, titles. They are not intended for long paragraphs or body text.
3. Legacy (non-Unicode) encoding
Our Devanagari and Gujarati display fonts are legacy fonts: the decorative letter shapes live on standard keyboard keys rather than Unicode code points. Typing regular Hindi/Marathi/Gujarati text directly will not work — use our free Type Converter and the How to Type guide to get the correct keystrokes. Text set in these fonts is artwork on screen/print; it is not machine-readable Unicode text (search engines, copy-paste, and screen readers will not read it as Hindi).
4. Software compatibility
The fonts work in design software that lets you pick a font and paste text — CorelDRAW, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva (desktop uploads), and similar. Rendering can vary slightly between applications and operating systems. We test on common design tools, but we cannot guarantee identical results in every app, version, or device. Try the free live preview on each font page before buying.
5. Preview images
Poster artwork on this site shows the fonts styled with colours, effects, backgrounds, and compositions. You are buying the font file — background images, mockup photos, and effects shown in posters are presentation artwork and are not included.
6. Improvements and requests
We genuinely love hearing which characters or conjuncts you miss, and we do improve our fonts over time — buyers get updated files from their account when a font is updated. However, improvement requests are welcome but not a commitment: we cannot promise that any specific glyph, conjunct, or feature will be added, or by when.
7. Questions before buying
Unsure whether a font covers what you need? Email hello@fontswala.com before purchasing — tell us the exact words you plan to set and we will confirm. Also see our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Licensing Terms.
